SME Combined Policy

You can't outrun risk, but you can be ready for it. If a fire damages your premises, a burst pipe destroys your stock, or a customer is injured on site, those costs shouldn't come out of your own pocket — and with the right cover, they don't have to.

An SME Combined Policy brings your business property cover and your business liability cover together under one policy, one renewal and one premium. Rather than stitching together separate policies and hoping the gaps line up, we design a single package around how your business actually operates.

Why Choose SME Combined Policy?

Built around what actually matters

Property & Liability In One

Your buildings, stock, fittings and equipment are covered alongside your legal liability to customers and the public — under a single policy rather than several disconnected ones.

Built Around Your Business

We review how you operate, what you own, and what could realistically go wrong, then shape the cover to match — not a generic off-the-shelf package.

One Renewal, One Premium

Simpler administration, one renewal date to track, and no overlapping or contradictory policy wordings to manage.

We Find The Gaps

Most businesses discover a coverage gap at claim time. We look for those gaps upfront, across your whole risk picture, before they cost you.

The Process

How SME Combined Policy works

01

We Review Your Risks

We look at your premises, stock, equipment, staff, customers and how you trade day to day, to identify what genuinely needs covering.

02

We Value What You Own

Buildings, fittings, stock and equipment are valued so your sums insured are realistic — avoiding under-insurance at claim time.

03

We Build The Package

We combine the right property and liability sections, plus any extensions your business needs, and place it with a suitable underwriter.

04

You're Covered

Your policy is issued and cover begins once the premium is paid and the insurer accepts the risk.

05

We Review At Renewal

Businesses change. Each year we revisit your values, activities and exposures so the cover keeps pace with your growth.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between this and buying separate policies?

A combined policy puts your property and liability sections under one contract, one renewal and one premium. Separate policies can work too, but they're easier to under-insure, easier to let lapse, and more likely to leave a gap between where one policy stops and the next begins.

Does it cover loss of income if I have to close temporarily?

Business interruption cover can be included, which responds to lost income and ongoing fixed costs while you recover from an insured event. It's optional on most policies, so tell us if it matters to you — for many businesses it's the section that matters most.

How do I know what sums insured to set?

We work through your buildings, stock, fittings and equipment with you. Setting these too low is the most common and most expensive mistake, because insurers can reduce a claim proportionally where a business is under-insured.

My business is very small. Is this still relevant?

Yes. The scale of the package changes, not the principle. A single fire, theft or liability claim can be enough to close a small business, which is precisely why combined cover exists at the smaller end of the market.

What isn't covered?

Standard exclusions typically include wear and tear, gradual deterioration, deliberate acts, and specified perils such as political violence and terrorism unless a specific extension is added. Your policy document sets out exactly what applies.
